Pink’s Postpartum Bod—Thank Goodness Someone’s Keepin’ It Real

On the one hand, it’s terrible that this was news. On the other, it’s a great opportunity to remind the world of reality. I’ve already mentioned that after I had my baby I still looked quite pregnant. I’d always kind of thought that once a giant human came flying out of the body, the massive baby bump would deflate immediately. But I was wrong, and it takes a bit of time for the midsection to lose that roundness—and that’s to say nothing of it getting back into shape.

So when I saw this article about kick-ass singer Pink stepping out just five days postpartum and actually LOOKING like she was five days postpartum*, I may have pumped my fist in the air and done a “You go, girl!” I’m a nerd, but seriously. In these days of “I lost 30 pounds in a month!” and “I just breastfed and it all melted away!” and “I walked the runway just weeks after giving birth!” (we love you HK!), it is so refreshing to see a celeb, for a a moment, be totally real. I’m sure Pink will lose every bit of that baby weight and be looking even more totally bad-ass than she does now (after all, she is kind of a hard-core mama!), but for now, she gets the Fit Bottomed Mama stamp of postpartum approval! Now if only more celeb mamas would do the same.

What do you think of Pink’s bad-assity? Did you do a nerdy “You go, girl” fist pump, too? —Erin

*Eye roll on the headline. Is it really necessary to call it a pooch?

well, this is great for 5 days. the article compares her 5 day body to those that “step out” after 6 WEEKS of training. while refreshing, i’m sure in 6 weeks P!nk’s body will be back in shape as well, just like the rest of em :)

Cheryl – Probably! But it’s so rare that we see a new celeb mom in public before looking perfect so I’m still pretty stoked. :)
