Are You Guilty of Oversharing?

A few weeks ago I stumbled across the site STFU, Parents. I can’t even remember how I got there, but once I was, I must have spent an hour perusing the site. The site’s once-anonymous and now-public blogger gets submissions from people whose friends overshare about their kids on Facebook. We’re talking status updates that will burn your retinas—gory pictures of poop and placentas and, well, things that should not go on Facebook!

I think most parents share updates about their kids on Facebook. That’s normal. They are a big part of our lives. But there is definitely a line that can be crossed and while other parents may nod their understanding of a major diaper situation, no one really needs to see a picture of it, and especially not your entire Facebook network. Do you keep it clean on Facebook?

Regardless, if you think you might be guilty of oversharing on Facebook, head over to STFU, Parents to find out what types of updates might get you skewered. And laugh at all of the crazy parents out there. —Erin
