I’ve had this workout DVD in my “to review” file for awhile now. But as I’ve been pregnant for 34 weeks, I haven’t exactly been in a place to, well, 3, 2, 1…Get Your Body Back like its title indicates. However, when we decided to do a week of twin-themed content, I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to include a workout by identical triplets. Triplets who happen to look like what I think the Sweet Valley High Wakefield twins would look like. Triplets who all had baby girls within a year of each other. It’s the perfect multiple-theme-plus-fit-mom perfect storm!
With three 10-minute workouts that each feature their own cardio and toning segments, this is a DVD built for the busy mom who may only be able to work out in small increments of time. And if you love the 80s, the aerobics vibe will knock your socks—or leg warmers—right off. Personally, their attire, though a bit cheesy, really did make me want to get some leg warmers.
The warm-up is quick and easy with aerobics basics like step touches, shoulder rolls and mild stretching. Some leg extensions work your balance, but this isn’t one of those warm-ups that will leave you feeling like you worked out. Each triplet then leads her own segment. Jaclyn starts out with Rockette kicks, making sure to mention how to keep it low impact when needed. The aerobics moves incorporate the entire bod, and the pace keeps it interesting, alternating singles and doubles. Backward lunges with punches and power squats will get your lower body working, and a 3-minute toning segment will work your upper body.
Erica’s cardio is a bit more high intensity, with Charlestons, knee lifts, jogs and football drills. The floor work is also quick here with old-school moves to work the hips, inner and outer thighs, and pelvic tilts to work the buns. Nicole’s segment features dance-style moves like side-to-side leaps, the twist, and a freestyle portion that’s pretty lighthearted and cute. The 3-minute toning segment focuses on the abs with crunches combined with leg lifts, bicycle moves, planks and the swimmer for your back. The Ab Bonus targets the tummy with a few more minutes of floor work—scissors, crunches for the obliques and planks.
The music is pretty standard background fare, but it does have a good beat and is a modern update to aerobics music. Because the workouts themselves aren’t really showing newfangled moves, I would have loved to have seen more personality from the girls—what triplets wouldn’t have a few anecdotes to share? And what new mom doesn’t have their babies to talk about? Tips for getting back into shape would have given this DVD the something extra it was missing.

Fit Bottom Line: While there’s nothing groundbreaking here, the Dahm triplets bring a modernized vibe to classic aerobics. The short segment choices and the ability to work to your level (high or low impact) make this an option for new moms just getting back into fitness postpartum. And the leg warmers rock.
